Candice Mathewson, Owner & Artistic Director
Candice Mathewson is the proud Owner and Artistic Director of Elite Dance Academy. Elite was started over 20 years ago and has grown into a thriving dance school currently teaching over 300 students with several qualified instructors. In 2006 Candice was approached to expand her teaching responsibilities and take over the business and has worked diligently to build upon the foundation and standards set over the years.
Dance has been a part of Candice’s life since as early as three years old. Some major highlights of her dance career including participating in the World Championships in Tap for team Canada and attending the prestigious National Ballet of Canada School in Toronto. Candice spent 7 years working with the Calgary Stampeder Outriders, 4 years as a dancer and 3 years as the Coach & Choreographer. She has trained in professional courses in New York, Vancouver and Toronto. Formal instruction includes her completion of the ISTD Associate Exam in Imperial Ballet. Above all, Candice has a love for dance and for teaching. She prides herself and her staff on professionalism, enthusiasm and ultimately – creating a positive learning environment for all.
